To hate making phone calls

Even if it's just to book a check up at the dentist, or to call the pharmacy. I HATE it! I put it off until I can't anymore, and I try and get them all done in one go and then feel proud of myself after. I try and outsource calls to British gas/Sky etc to DH. Anyone else feel like this? it's like I have to psych myself up!

I avoid using the phone at all costs.
Rarely answer it either

i avoid at all costs, even speaking to family & friends. I always put it down to working in call centres for years when I was younger. Turns out it’s actually my autism!

I love phoning. My bf hates it though and will put it off. I do wonder if he is very high functioning asd

Don't think not liking the phone always has to be down to autism to be honest.

YABU it's a basic life skill you can't message everyone.

To be fair I think you could probably quite easily manage your life without ever having to make a phone call these days. You can order anything online, pay bills, make complaints, appointments etc. so as long as you chose a job where you didn't have to use the phone you'd be fine.

Plus op didn't say she couldn't do it just she doesn't like it.

It's very very common and more so the younger you are - there are a million memes about millenials/gen z etc doing anything to avoid making a phone call.
Im exactly the same - I'm fine talking to someone in person, on teams etc just hate phoning.

I honestly can't remember the last time I spoke to a friend on the phone-must have been at least 15 years ago! Not that we don't keep in touch- but it's just via messages, zoom/teams meetings during lockdown and now in person.
