I know it's pathetic really and people are suffering way more than me but I'm worried and anxious about a GP appointment next week. I initially made the routine appointment nearly a month ago (only emergency appointments are available on the day). I've noticed since end Aug my neck has a slight swelling around the oesophagus which is gradually increasing.
Since making that appointment another issue has come to light. After a long time abstaining I've had sex twice and each time after I've had lower abdominal pain. Last time was Wed night and I still have mild cramps and a bloated weird feeling now.
I'm scared tbh. I remember years back I had to have a procedure to check something but can't remember exactly what. Possibly something showed up on a smear? I'm 46 now and it was all clear at the time.
So when I tell GP next week what will they do? Will I need an internal examination?
I have no idea if female or male doctor and am dreading the whole thing.
Sorry for waffling but if anyone has been through similar I'd appreciate advice/info as to what will happen.

Very unlikely to be related

Neck- probably benign multinodular goitre from what you are describing but obviously needs examination and possibly an US

Low abdo pain after sex not uncommon, but if your smear isn't up to date then they will want to do that and possibly a pelvic US too. Is it uncomfortable during sex of just afterwards?

After sex, worse the following morning. Doesn't hurt at all during and it's definitely not due to deep penetration/position.
