To wonder what the Masons actually do?

Usererror1999 · 28/10/2022 22:31

I hear various ideas from “they go for piss ups and fancy dinners” to “ they are a shadowy organisation with bloodthirsty rituals”

but what, do they actually get up to? Anyone know?

That's interesting. Makes sense.

CatchYouOnTheFlippetyFlop · 29/10/2022 08:56

I know someone in the armed forces who was a wife beater and stalker, went to court on a few occasions. His dad was a Mason, as are many, many judges.

Army man never got sanctioned once and is still in the army to this day.

Skatewing · 29/10/2022 09:00

I wonder how they would take to a woman identifying as a man and wanting to join. 🤔

Genius. Worth a try!

The downfall of Freemasonry will be getting “cancelled” when TRA finally click on that the only measure they use to define man or woman is opening your shirt to reveal whether you have at least one milk producing baby sustaining breast or not. Though maybe the Cabal that protects them against everything from child abuse charges to parking tickets can protect them from that too.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 29/10/2022 09:11

My Dad is high up in the masons.

lower down it could be seen as lots of food, networking and ‘jobs for the boys’ and they raise amazing amounts for charity.
but I agree with pp, those who think that is it have only heard from those in the lower levels.
my dad would say 💯 it’s his religion, it’s a faith, he studies for years regarding the codes etc. It’s very complex.
and, also, the organisation worldwide is incredibly powerful and linked to rumours f corruption and abuse. Even things like false memory syndrome association is heavily involved with freemasonry and their influence.
so yes, much much more to it than a social club, once you get higher up.

audeloquipalam · 29/10/2022 09:19

If you’re looking for a boys club where self congratulatory and relatively well off men band together over odd rituals, advance their careers, make an influential and protective friend and practice their misogyny I’d suggest your local golf club. The flood of professional golfers to LIV for that ridiculous Saudi oil money also suggests that it’s their “upper echelons” who are In League With Satan while the “rank and file” just think it’s a game.

Who controls the British crown?
Who keeps the metric system down?
We do, we do

That's not the masons that's the stonecutters

He’s that high up and dedicated and yet he told his non-believing kid all that about it? OK.

Probably the same way as the House of Lords does if a transman wants to become a hereditary peer. Male privilege takes precedence!

LIV?
The Stonecutters?

My DH was invited to join the Freemasons…think that is what you mean by “masons”. They do a lot of charity work. The lodge meeting he went to as a taster (his sponsor took him along) had alot of business items like fundraising for the childrens wing at the local hospital, buying a property to be a rent free house for 18yr olds leaving foster care, then there was a bit of political talk about who to vote for as next MP. They were also planning a trip to visit some Shriners? Who I think are an American subgroup within the masons. He was just put off by the secret, mystical aspects of it and so politely declined to join.

Shriners International, formerly known as the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine (AAONMS), is an American Masonic society established in 1870 and is headquartered in Tampa, Florida.

@audeloquipalam fuck off, if you don’t like what I have shared that’s on you. I’m not a kid, I’m in my late 40’s, and I have regular chats with my Dad about something that is hugely important to him and that he works in every day if his life. He doesn’t think these things need to be secret, and also there are thousands of books out there telling this stuff.
the issue around freemasonry and false memory is from my own research in my area of work and is common knowledge. Easily googleable.

People can still confide in those close to them, even if they are high up

LIV is the name of a new professional golf tournament underwritten by the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia, that bastion of morality in our world.

Why is Satan any better or worse than God ? Especially if you read the old testament versions.

But in the end, it's all human interpretation,

For those saying it's business opportunities and networking... What you mean is cronyism jobs for the boys culture.

And the loyalty of your brother's to get away with any behaviour. Totally corrupt.

This.

It’s about promoting the interests of their members ( white middle and lower middle class men ) in various ways over their non members ( women, BAME, asylum seekers and refugees, members of religious faiths ) .

The am dram and “ charity work” Is just an excuse for a piss up and the “networking “ .

Well then, surely it's up to no members to want to be a member, if you want to be part of the collective, then you have to join ?

I saw this van outside Tesco yesterday morning:
www.shropshirestar.com/news/local-hubs/shrewsbury/2020/06/11/shrewsbury-food-hub-gets-the-keys-to-new-van/
So that's one thing I know they do. I'm not denying there's something very shadowy about the organisation, with dubious roots in mediaeval military monastic orders and networks of political and business influence, but it does still maintain its charitable purposes.

So no different than the church ?

Are the fictional Stonecutters based on the Freemasons?

Twoshoesnewshoes · 29/10/2022 09:41

@audeloquipalam of course my research wasn’t googling it, it was part of my masters in traumatic memory so I did need to be just a little more thorough…I’m saying that this info is well known and available to anyone who can use google. Why are you so oppositional to what I’ve said? What is int that riled?
i have good chats with my Dad about his religion and you have no place to call me a liar.
