We've booked our Christmas do at work. And discovered that it's a two course dinner. (Fine) but it soup and not pudding!! I mean why wouldn't you offer pudding instead of soup. (Lighthearted before anyone whinges)

YANBU.

Bring us some figgy pudding!!

CherryLongIsland · 27/10/2022 18:35

I'd swap starter for pudding any day, soup wouldn't be my first choice though.

OneDayAtATimePlease · 27/10/2022 18:36

YANBU deal breaker for me, if I'm going out for food I want a decadent pudding! (I don't eat out often)

MissyB1 · 27/10/2022 18:37

Bloody hell I wouldnt go!! No pudding is an insult and a travesty!

Toddlerteaplease · 27/10/2022 18:41

It's vegetable soup as well. So not even something exciting!

@MissyB1 I had my name picked out to work instead. So got my money back, but then someone has swapped so I can't not go. Paid my money again, then found about the lack of pudding 😰

Hmmm I generally prefer a starter to pudding but not soup. Not a fan of soup

devildeepbluesea · 27/10/2022 18:44

I’d always have a starter over a pudding, I just don’t have a sweet tooth.

But Christmas dinner without pudding?!! What insanity is this??!!

nocoolnamesleft · 27/10/2022 18:44

No pudding? No pudding?!?!!??! Shocked.

SirDavidAttenborough · 27/10/2022 18:48

Outrageous.

Vege soup is cheap and easy to make em masse for Christmas parties etc. I bet they still charge as much as competing venues for 2 courses (but include pudding!)

ParentallyUnprepared · 27/10/2022 18:50

If you're not serving pudding you need to serve a kick-ass starter. Like pate.

SaintVitasShagulaitas · 27/10/2022 18:52

I'd have a word with the person organising it and explain that this is not acceptable.

HauntedCabinet · 27/10/2022 18:55

Soup is not a course; it's a drink.

Demand pudding!

cushioncovers · 27/10/2022 18:55

All joking aside that's really poor not to offer three courses. I'm curious as to why.

AngelinaFibres · 27/10/2022 18:57

Could you stop at McDonald's on the way home and have a mcflurry

Toddlerteaplease · 27/10/2022 18:59

We are thinking of smuggling something in! My colleague who booked it was mortified when she found out. We've been there before and it was 3 courses for half of what we are paying this year.

Brigante9 · 27/10/2022 19:00

No Christmas pudding? That’s very poor. Who organised that?!

ErrolTheDragon · 27/10/2022 19:00

Surely they'll at least give everyone a mince pie with their coffee?

AriettyHomily · 27/10/2022 19:00

Starter and main, yes but not soup, I'd never choose soup at a meal out, too filling for a start, if work are paying I want the free wine!

maddiemookins16mum · 27/10/2022 19:01

Pretend it’s someone’s birthday and take a Christmas Colin caterpillar along for pudding.

FuzzyPuffling · 27/10/2022 19:01

Best pop a Mars Bar in your pocket.

mondaytosunday · 27/10/2022 19:02

Wow I thought there was usually a choice between starter/main or main/dessert, and all three for us greedy guts (with supplement).
Completely unreasonable!

Loics · 27/10/2022 19:03

I would choose soup over pudding, but there should be a pudding!

Pixiedust1234 · 27/10/2022 19:04

Thats disgusting. Not even a thin slice of chocolate cake with cream? faints

purplecorkheart · 27/10/2022 19:06

Profit, very easy and very cheap to make soup. Easier to serve. And does not require a pastry chef
