H and I broke up 2 years ago but things reasonably amicable especially with his family. FIL rushed into hospital at the weekend and is now in ICU on a ventilator with flu and pneumonia, they have said he is improving but still has some way to go. He is 68. My kids lost their other grandad 18 months ago. Trying to keep things very matter of fact and honest with the kids, but genuinely fearing the worst and not sure how I would cope with breaking yet more bad news to them after the last 2 years.
Has anyone else had a family member go through this and come out the other side and if so, what are we expecting in terms of quality of life after. I think ex is hoping he will come out of ICU and go back to normal. Would be good to hear some good news stories.
