Is this normal when dieting

My mouth feels all gunky and phlemy- not with sticky phlegm but it’s something with a gunky gummy texture . I I can feel it in the inside of my mouth and during the day it goes round the side of my mouth and gathers at the corners of my lips and looks like whiteish/light coloured gunk

It only started when I started dieting ! Im trying to get rid of my spare tyre ! I have removed alcohol and takeaways from my diet and I am not dehydrated - I am drinking more than ever !

is this mouth problem normal in a diet and is there a way I can stop it because it’s very annoying.

Hmm that does sound strange. Have you started eating or drinking anything new that you wouldn’t normally?

And is the phlegm (I know you said it’s not phlegm, but can’t think of how else to describe it!) causing you any pain or discomfort? Or is it just something that’s not normal for you and that’s come out of the blue?

Maybe see if it’s still there in a week or so, and then make an appointment with your GP to see what it could be?

Oh and what else have you removed from your diet apart from alcohol and takeaways?

Is your diet low carb? You could have gone in ketosis? In the past I have done low carb diets and I can always tell when I have gone into ketosis as my mouth feels funny and yucky and I have confirmed this with ketostix - it’s an horrible side effect but the weight falls off!! Good luck with your diet.
