YABU- labour
YANBU-tories

Please note - I have chosen Yabu and Yanbu because they represent two option, not because voting for one is unreasonable or note. Want this to be as neutral as I can manage.

I can’t! Can’t vote for either 😢

MeowMeowPowerRangers · 22/10/2022 11:15

I can't vote on the app. But YABU, labour voter for life.

TeenDivided · 22/10/2022 11:21

I think the best government we had in recent years was the conservative-lib dem coalition. But then the lib dems got destroyed because they made compromises.
Tories in disarray.
No idea what Labour policies actually are.
Lib Dems have been overtaken by wokeness.
Hopeless.

listsandbudgets · 22/10/2022 11:22

I went Tory only because they're a marginally less worse option than Labour although its a very tiny margin. Usually Labour mess up.the economy and the Tories fix it. This time Tories have broken it but I'm not convinced Labour are up.to correcting the situation. IF the Tories manage to choose someone with a firm hand on the party nad some economic nouse they may be able to turn it round. I dint know

I wont he voting for either in a general they're both appalling..Ots a cruel choice OP 😂

Sorry, I didn't think of it not being a completely binary choice and this makes the whole thing mostly null and void, especially in Scotland, N Ireland and Wales. Never mind, hopefully it still gives some indication. Tory MPs keep talking abiut how great it is that Boris is potentially going to ride to thee country's rescue with his massive mandate and I keep thinking, naaaaaah, surely? But I don't know. So vote away!

We are constantly being told what chaotic instability a hung Parliament would bring. But that administration proved otherwise to me.

I don't doubt there must have been a lot of negotiation behind the scenes, but surely that's the adult way to run a country - negotiation and compromise. Not a single party ploughing on regardless.

Waynettaaa · 22/10/2022 11:26

Neither. I am politically homeless.

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 22/10/2022 11:27

This is so fascinating. Lots of people clearly remain unconvinced of Labour's message and strategies.
I agree with this who advocate for a coalition - it does force compromise and concensus which is sorely lacking while the tories are so right of centre.

In England - Labour
In Scotland - SNP

StoneofDestiny · 22/10/2022 11:40

You know Tory Policy has brought the UK to its knees - that’s enough!

ilovesooty · 22/10/2022 11:42

Oh FFS.

TeenDivided · 22/10/2022 11:47

StoneofDestiny · 22/10/2022 11:40

You know Tory Policy has brought the UK to its knees - that’s enough!

The thing is
a) Brexit was done by referendum (yes the referendum was triggered by Conservatives but there is an argument that Labour didn't back the stay campaign to bring its voters to vote remain)
b) Covid was an external factor
c) The war in Ukraine is an external factor

We need to hear not now about Brexit but what parties would do now to sort things out. I think get a Tory leader in place, hold a general election in the spring.

StoneofDestiny · 22/10/2022 12:11

We don’t need another Tory Leader - they are choosing from reduced and damaged stock to promote ONLY Tory interest. There is no moral direction, no sense of the Common Good and no intention to invest in our public services at all!
Let the country decide - get a GE announced and all political parties will tell you what their policies are in detail.
Don’t forget - Johnson did not allow himself to be interrogated by quality journalists, or even mediocre ones, because he had NO policy beyond ‘Get Brexit Done’ - and what a disaster that has turned out to be, and the worst has yet to come.

BMW6 · 22/10/2022 12:16

MN GE polls ALWAYS predict a Labour win. Every time they lose in real life there are wails of "How did that happen".

🙄

Purplebunnie · 22/10/2022 12:17

Ex Tory voter, will never vote for them again (didn't vote for them last time either).
Not convinced Labour can get us out of the dungheap the Tories have dumped us into.

No idea who to vote for at the moment

StopStartStop · 22/10/2022 12:19

Labour will win unless it's possible to rig the vote. That will be dire news for women's rights and safeguarding of children. The economy might stabilise - dear God, what state are we in when Labour are the only hope for a stable-ish economy. Help us!

EdgeOfACoin · 22/10/2022 12:21

If the Tories can sort the mess out before the next election, I'll vote Conservative.

If the Labour Party scraps its commitment to self-ID (or "reform of the GRA" as it now refers to it) and starts recognising women's rights, I'll vote Labour.

Until either of those things happen - neither.

KTheGrey · 22/10/2022 12:21

Will not be voting. I cannot see anyone decent turning up on my ballot.

NotTodayPal · 22/10/2022 12:23

It’s interesting to see that nearly a third of MNetters are Conservative - we tend not to be able to post 😉
