To vacuum?

NC for this.

I have a cellar spider that has been living on my ceiling. I generally don't mind them as they are inoffensive and eat the bigger spiders and it was in a corner and not moving or bothering me.

But it has now given birth and I have counted 31 baby spiders and the mother. They were all initially bunched together in a web but this morning they are starting to slowly branch out. I don't really want 31 of them in my house. Would I be unreasonable to vacuum them all up? I'd feel so bad but I don't know what else to do.

Cellar spiders are absolutely awful! I’ve never found a more successful way to get rid of them than vacuuming them up.

I don't mind them ever since I saw one trap and eat a huge house spider. But don't really want a family of 32 sharing digs with me. 😣But I would genuinely feel bad. I thought I was genuinely being nice by not turfing the OG spider out in the Winter cold.

Go for it. You’ll likely miss a baby or two and they can keep up the pest control.

I couldn't and threw them out, even though I know that they will die anyway. I leave the ones in a cupboard because they just feed on each other when nothing else is available, so control pests and their own numbers.
