To brush my teeth twice a day

gjkufbb · 22/10/2022 09:03

I brush mine twice a day. DP sometimes does it once every other day. I am just about ready to blow my lid at him

Surely even once a day is better but not doing it before bed then leaving the house the next day without doing it! I'm embarrassed and disgusted.

I do it once a day before leaving the house. If I do it before bed, I wake up with the mist awful taste in my mouth and what feels like furry teeth. It’s hard to explain but I hate it. I grew up doing it twice a day though.

I'm surprised he has any teeth left. I'm assuming his breath isn't minty fresh ?

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 22/10/2022 09:07

Isn’t twice a day just normal oral hygiene?

Years ago, I had a boyfriend who didn’t clean his teeth regularly. He ended up with gingivitis…

MrsLargeEmbodied · 22/10/2022 09:07

i do it twice a day
particularly due to lack of a dentist now

faffadoodledo · 22/10/2022 09:08

Twice a day, and floss every day before bed too.
Does your husband know how expensive dental treatment is?

shivermetimbers77 · 22/10/2022 09:08

My ex also used to be very lax about brushing his teeth.. one of the reasons he’s now my ex!.. Twice a day plus flossing etc is really important , especially as we get older. Bad dental hygiene is such a turn off..

WhatsErFace2020 · 22/10/2022 09:09

Surely everyone does it twice a day?! Yuck how’s his breath OP

NCFT0922 · 22/10/2022 09:09

That’s vile. I’m assuming you aren’t kissing him 🤮

YoComoManzanas · 22/10/2022 09:09

Urgh, I just couldn't live with 'old bad breath. Yuck.

JE17 · 22/10/2022 09:09

I'd be embarrassed and disgusted too. Hope you're not kissing him 🤢

Singleandproud · 22/10/2022 09:11

Twice a day is the bare minimum surely. Anything less than that is disgusting. Really you should do it 20 mins after each meal.

RhubarbFairy · 22/10/2022 09:11

Grim. Twice a day here.

I grew up only doing them once a day (in the morning). DH grew up as a twice a dayer. It felt grotty not to clean my teeth when he did before bed so I slipped into his habit. Also, it's common courtesy. If we're sharing a bed, the least we can do is have fresh breath when we go to bed.

AloysiusBear · 22/10/2022 09:12

See this is just plain stupid.

Twice a day, not optional

Iwantmyoldnameback · 22/10/2022 09:16

I thought this was going to say twice a day was not enough. I think it's a bare minimum I tend to add another in if I go out after lunch.

LikeTearsInRain · 22/10/2022 09:17

What a disgusting man.

Vapeyvapevape · 22/10/2022 09:18

I can't think straight without brushing my teeth, I just don't feel properly ready .
He's gross !

WonderingWanda · 22/10/2022 09:32

Ew, he would be my ex. I do mine about 3 times a day.

Simonjt · 22/10/2022 09:33

Twice a day is the minimum, only doing it once, or not even daily is very poor hygiene.

@User135792468 then brush again when you wake up?

who doesn’t wake up with a terrible taste in their mouth?

Dreamingcats · 22/10/2022 09:56

I admit to doing it once a day. I had my first "filling" at over 40 and that was due to wearing away my gums rather than decay in the actual tooth, so I'm not inclined to do it more to minimise further gum wear.

Husband is also once a day, but hypocritically it bothers me because I'm a last thing at night person (so they are clean all night) but he's a morning person (so they're only clean for 10 minutes before breakfast).

Every other day would disgust me.

CarefreeMe · 22/10/2022 10:01

I brush mine at least twice a day.

I don’t think I’ve ever not brushed my teeth twice a day.

I would never leave the house having not brushed my teeth, knowing my breath would smell.

And I can’t physically go to sleep without having nice clean teeth.

I never get how people in relationships stop brushing their teeth.
In the beginning they would have made sure they always brushed their teeth.

Surely you don’t want stinky breath when you’re laying next to your partner, regardless of whether you’ll be getting intimate or not.

Or talking to you co-workers knowing you’ve not brushed your teeth.

Twice a day as I’m a grown up and understand importance of dent hygiene. I find that disgusting for people to brush on once if that (unless you are unwell and even then I’ve still never missed a whole day of brushing my teeth)
