Work away from home?

First world problem, apologies in advance. I’ve been offered a role earning double what I currently earn, but I would need to stay away from home 3 nights a week (weeknights), potentially 2 nights a week or fewer eventually. We don’t need the money, but it would mean we could have many more luxuries and I could save bigger nest eggs for my kids. Also I could retire earlier, maybe before the DC have left school. Professional role. The kids would be looked after by DH and grandparents while I’m away. 2 DCs aged 8 and 6. Am I mad to even consider it?

YABU - do not lose this time with the kids
YANBU - massive pay rise, plus you only see the kids a couple of hours each weekday with current job. So maximise your earning and aim to retire earlier.

Works for some. DH is away 3 nights a week and we muddle along. IDK what his long term plan is but, for now, the money is helpful.
