I don’t know… because I struggle to imagine what makes people think it’s in any way acceptable to write the kind of ‘looking for a man to pay for me and my kids’ profiles it’s parodying.
Not all single mums are like that. Not even close. It’s not making fun of single mums. It’s making a point about some pretty awful behaviour.
And, as so many on the thread have pointed out, the thinking isn’t restricted to single mums. There are an alarming number of men looking for not just nanny/housekeeper replacements for their children’s mother, they also want her to provide financially and ideally have a big house for his kids and a car and basically compensate him for what he lost in his divorce. They don’t necessarily say that as baldly… but these kind of single dad parasites are more common than you’d think.
It is a terrible attitude whether it’s a man or a woman holding it.
