Suddenly scared of everything

My dc, 4 years and 3 months.
She’s been saying everything scares her recently, she gets a bit jumpy and also gets over excited and is hard to calm down after playing lots, some shouting and making random noises out of nowhere.
Is this typical behaviour? Starting to feel a little worried.

Absolutely normal.
My dd went through this at about the same age, terrified someone was going to break in the house and kill us!
I got her a build the bear and she recorded a message in it telling the baddies to go away...she'd take it to bed and press it if she felt scared.
You can also get "worry monsters" where you can write out her worry and the monster "eats it".
Try not to worry, these are all stages of development and don't last long.
My dd is 18 now and absolutely fine xxx

@badassbaby Thank you, it seems to have come out of nowhere, she must say ‘Im
scared’ most days now 🤷🏻‍♀️She’s become scared of ants, moths, spiders, shadows..allsorts.
Is the hyperactivity and being unable to calm down, seems v highly strung typical all of a sudden too?

Yes I would say so it's anxiety.
It's very common at this age as they start to become more aware of the world.
My dd was upset/anxious/nervous for about a year so strap in for the long haul!
Lots of cuddles, reassurance, chats.
Although I'm sure you're doing that already x❤️

Following with interest. My son (just turned 4) has been like this for the last few months. Suddenly terrified of dogs, for instance, and really freaked out by stories about night time it dark bits in tv shows. Also a bit hyper.

@RoseAndGeranium It just seems to have come on since turning 4, well the last month or so it’s stronger. I was hoping it was just a natural phase they go through, it seems to be, thank god!
