We should have a general election?

The government is in a mess. It looks like Truss might go only a month after becoming Prime Minister. If she goes, there should be a general election. One Prime Minister unelected by the public I can accept, but not two.

So either Truss stays, or if she can't then we should have a general election.

Not going to happen and neither should it right now.

Labour need to come up with some credible policies in order to make themselves electable. Because right now there are too many people who, while they won’t vote tori, won’t vote labour either. And “I want the tories out” isn’t a good enough reason to have an election when you have no idea what you’re actually voting for. “Be careful what you wish for” springs to mind.

As for the pp and other posters who revert to calling anyone with an opposing view a “tori twat,” the best way to lose an argument is to resort to personal insults. It’s not big and it’s not clever.

And yet Labour’s support is currently at an all time high in most polls…

We're stuck in this wretched hellscape for another two years! 😖

No.

We’re in for a tough year or so whoever is in power. Changing government won’t change that. Let them deal with their own shit.

As much as I want the Tories out, I agree with this totally!

And people like @Kellie45 are the reason Tory are so shit. She sets the bar so low, why should they go high?

Absolutely any other party would govern the UK better.

Nope. It’s people like you who can’t grasp the truth about economics and have got your head in some sort of cloud! Sorry!

Whoever you think should be in power, I think it is fundamentally wrong if we get a second Prime Minister that is unelected by the public.

Agree! Let's see how much pressure Labour can put the tories under to call it. I doubt they will though, it's theirs to loose if they call it now and no doubt they're still deluded that they can redeem themselves and hold off for another 2 years.

A general election is needed because the government are too busy fighting each other to effectively govern, for several months now. We have numerous emergencies to address. We need the chance to vote for grown ups.

I'm still shocked at Liz SMIRKING her way through the speech. They are laughing at us. Beggars belief that anyone still supports them anymore, I assume those that claim to are paid bots, tbh
