to hate it that companies genderise childrens TV show merchendise? For example my SON loves fifi, but EVERYTHING to do with her is pink ..

Now him wearing pink doesnt bother me, he has pink Fifi pyjamas and pink fifi vests! But I would like to be able to get him more boyish stuff with the programs he likes.

but why is all 'Roary the racing car' stuff aimed at boys, ect.

Why cant they make boys jeans / jumpers with Fifi on, and girls skirts with Roary on?

It makes me sad when we go into a shop and DS is pointing at the fifi stuff - how do I explain to him he cant really wear it becasue its a nighty or a skirt.

I sit still while dd rubs Playdoh into my hair and calls me a Daftie. Then she takes all her clothes off and does Strictly Come Dancing.
I'd like to swap dds with Enid I think

marina, our dd's sound related (although when mine takes her clothes off she generally does Wow Wow Wubbzy-style bouncing on the sofa...)

I was going to post separately about this, but I was looking at the ELC website yesterday for present ideas, and EVERY FARKING ONE of the toys under 'Action/Adventure' is shown with a boy playing with it - ffs!!!

Toy adverts are even worse

But on the bright side, Sainsbos had a nurse's outfit for Christmas that was unisex scrubs - a white v-neck top and green trousers - dd went mental for it until she got given a doctor's coat by her gran - now she's promoted herself and I'm the nurse...

strangely enough, marina, my ds1 told me this week that he wants to write a cookery book for kids. If this, by some remote chance, ever comes off, I will check for gender stereotyping!

I think he would be a wow at that tigermoth - and no stereotyping either!
