Help me decide!

I have a dilemma and would like your wisdom to help me decide what to do!

DS (1) is invited to a bday party today.
The birthday boy has woken up with chickenpox so won't be going to his own party 😓

The mum (my friend) is still going ahead with the party but only bringing her elder child and some of her friends so that it doesn't go to waste. The elder child had CP a few weeks ago and is fully recovered.

Should I still go? Feel conflicted.

Is it that you do not want your child catching chicken pox?
Would you like to keep your child away from it completely or would you mind it your child got it young ?

I wouldn't. I would be staying well away from poxy people. It can be a really horrible illness.

Plus your baby is 1. The party is for the benefit of the adults. Chill out instead.

I wouldn’t either. CP is not the lightweight illness many people seem to think it is. I’d get my child immunised if possible. My first child is as extremely sick with CP, I was shocked. One child at the school ended up with brain damage and mother lost his hearing. Before then I had no idea it could be so serious.

I wouldn't. One of mine was VERY ill with chicken pox.

I'd be booking them to the doc for the vaccine asap.
