To get a cleaner for a one bed flat?

I share a one bed flat with my partner. We both work crazy long hours (finance). It’s 45square meters. We can afford it but my partner thinks it’s a waste of money.

I argue that if I work until 10pm most nights of the week, I don’t want to spend my Sunday dusting and scrubbing limescale build up off the taps. I’m also a clean freak, so I notice dirt before they do.

Obviously I understand that cleaners usually have a minimum call out charge/number of hours. But I think it’d be worth it for me, to have a spotless flat.

Most people I know have a cleaner primarily for the kitchen and bathroom (even if they do more than that). So size of flat makes little difference!

I think it's more important to have a clean space in a small home as you have nowhere to escape to. Keeping everything tidy and clean adds to your peace of mind so money well spent. Anytime l had a cleaner over the years l found l was tidier and cleaner during the week just to have everything ready for the cleaner so it's a double win. Also if the cleaner does lots you can actually do that one job that you never get to like clear your wardrobe or empty cupboards so it is more than having a clean space.
Go for it. It makes perfect sense.

I had a cleaner and live in a large 1 bed house.

I don't like cleaning, that's why I got one. I stopped due to Covid but keep thinking I should get another one.

If you want a cleaner, get one.😃

I actually got into doing home help from cleaning individual sheltered housing bedsits for 30-45 mins at a time. Hire a local lass rather than a big firm and you won’t get hit with a minimum hour contract. I’ve got clients I do 20 mins a day three days a week
