Will Liz Truss outlive a lettuce? 'Probably not' says former Bank of England economist

Liz Truss will "probably not" outlive the shelf life of a lettuce, according to a former member of the monetary policy committee of the Bank of England.

I'm finding Kwasi being canned and Liz's prospective shelf life damn funny!!!

Where is the lettuce coming from? Lidl or M&S?

TheCatsPyjamas1 · 14/10/2022 18:25

I vote no 🤣 that lettuce will emerge victorious.

Auntieobem · 14/10/2022 18:25

It would be funny if her decisions hadn't had such a terrible impact on the economy and individual's financial situation. If/when she goes there has to be a general election surely???

PoundOfNesh · 14/10/2022 18:25

My lettuces don’t last more than 2 days, so I’m thinking she might outlive the lettuce, but not a pack of organic carrots.

HappyHappyHermit · 14/10/2022 18:26

Depends if it's in Boris's fridge.

It was a quote from a former BofE economist so probably not Lidl. Waitrose, maybe.

No then. Especially not if it's stored carefully and unopened.

🤣 I don’t think Boris knows what lettuce is… maybe he thinks it’s the name of a girl he once had a fling with? Or at a push, one of his kids?*

*i think one of his kids’ middle names is actually ‘Lettice’, in all seriousness

DamnUserName21 · 14/10/2022 18:54

Q. What do Liz Truss and the Titanic have in common?

A. They were both taken out by an iceberg.
