Isn’t the whole point that they are actually a friend first and foremost otherwise it’s just a fuck buddy?

I don't have any single male friends sadly! Maybe I need a FB instead then?? I want someone to go on fun dates with and have sex with but not have to do all the boring relationship bits.

No they don't. I've had a FWB for several years now.

Hes an old friend who I find attractive in both appearance & personality. I couldn't have sex with someone I wasn't attracted to. We both agreed on the 'rules' before we got into it & have stuck to them. It's a perfect set up for us both

I'd say it's more of a fuck buddy set up than FWB though.
My old FB and I had nothing in common and weren't remotely interested in each other but we had good sex. We wouldn't talk or spend time together outside of the bedroom.
It worked perfectly and neither of us got feelings (that I know about...like I said, we didn't really talk)
