I’ll start… dogs 😬 Never goes down well & I think if I owned one I’d probably grow to love it but in my eyes they just smell and dribble and are annoying. How about you?!

Celebrity gossip

Soap operas

Breakfast foods

Alcohol

Christmas tat such as decorations, santas, cards, illuminations etc.

Ladyof2022 · 21/11/2022 07:27

Oh and ALL Xmas foods, including turkey (we have roast lamb on Xmas day then lamb curry) and also all Xmas music. Especially in shops where one has Slade blared at one in every shop for the whole of December.

Shiny white new kitchens that cost a fortune but will date/wear badly in no time at all.

Tea. That British institution of a drink that everyone loves. I can’t bear it.

When I say I don’t drink tea, there are several standard responses. People look at me with either horror, bewilderment or suspicion - much like when someone says they don’t like chocolate or puppies. Many try to convert me by implying I just haven’t had the right kind of tea yet.

Someone will say “oh but you must try green tea/earl grey/roibosh/lapsang souchong … it’s totally different”.

Nope - all still smells and tastes like tea to me. I’ve tried all different types of tea and the only ones I like are the ones that don’t actually contain any tea at all but are made from boiled nettles with bits of dried fruit or suchlike.

I’ve tried to like tea so hard in order to fit in but I really just can’t get past the smell of it.

I love tea, but I've met many people who dislike all hot drinks and I now know not to make any ' judgements ' 😂
Tea is the best drink ever!

JamSandle · 21/11/2022 14:14

Wine. I just don't get it. So many people's answer to a bad day seems to be 'have a glass of wine'.
Plug in air 'fresheners' and scented candles. They make me wheeze, but l have asthma.
Meat.
Most tv and films that everyone else seems to rave about.
Plastic fingernails and 'nail art'. Those 'marker pen' eyebrows and fake eyelashes which are so long and thick you have to just about throw your head back to open your eyes. I used to wear two sets of falsies in the 70s, and they never looked like that!
Fake tan so orange you look like you've been creosoted.
(I see a lot of both of the above at work. Some of it's terrifying close up)
Laundry scent boosters.

blondiecurly · 22/11/2022 12:05

Going out every weekend. Can I not just stay home and relax?

TaughtMeHowToDangle · 22/11/2022 12:33

Krispy kremes (horrible artificial shite)

Nando's (boring)

Bodens (the ugliest fucking clothes I've ever seen)

Dogs & cats (dogs smell and moult hair, cats shit in a tray that is in the house and plonk their arse all over the furniture and kitchen worktops)

Strictly come dancing (the world's most boring Tv programme)

Mamma2017 · 25/11/2022 03:59

The extreme adoration for Michelle Keenan’s looks. Ok I see she’s pretty but no more than the next pretty girl- I just never understood the hype and constant ‘sexiest woman’ awards. Before I get jumped on this is just my opinion ok and thoughts and seems this is the thread title to say it under as seems I’m the only one who doesn’t get it lol

I love ' love actually '
Especially Ant or Dec's cameo in it

BigMandsTattooPortfolio · 25/11/2022 13:46

Overly whitened teeth. They look scary.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 25/11/2022 13:59

I'm with you on tea. Green China tea, Jasmine or herbal teas are fine, but even the smell of black tea makes me heave.

Most of that fruity, heavy, cinnamonny Christmas food is also not for me. Ditto sprouts.

As far as bad films go, 'Love Actually' isn't the only culprit tainting the British market. Nearly all Working Title's back catalogue is nearly as bad.

Couldyounot · 25/11/2022 14:07

Schitt's Creek - sorry, it's OK but I don't get the hype
Parks & Rec - ditto
Pumpkin spice anything
Mulled wine. Why in God's name would you?
The Kardashians and their seemingly endless TV series. Please just have a rest, people
Weird teas

I don't like chocolate. I used to think I liked it but it turned out I actually like the vanilla flavour they put in some chocolate.
