I’ll start… dogs 😬 Never goes down well & I think if I owned one I’d probably grow to love it but in my eyes they just smell and dribble and are annoying. How about you?!

What a mean-hearted thread this has turned out to be.

Thirder · 14/10/2022 00:03

Podcasts. It's just a really dull talk show on a radio station. I tried but they put me to sleep.

Agree about dogs, helpless smelly things. Cats are different.

Cupcakes with intricate toppings. Usually very disappointing when you bite into one.

Iateallthechocolate · 14/10/2022 00:05

Baby classes and groups, messy play, sensory stuff, mum and baby exercise, toddler groups. Everyone else seems to enjoy them.

Thirder · 14/10/2022 00:06

Forgot another one. My dh would say a frappacino. Very expensive cold coffee. I'll never forget the time he bought one, and retched, saying its like a coffee that you've left sitting overnight on the counter top. 😁

LuckyPeonies · 14/10/2022 00:07

The Kardashians. I will never understand their popularity.

Desserts that comprise a load of branded confectionery shoved on a cake or doughnut or in a milkshake. You can have any flavour under the sun, as long as it’s ferrero rocher, Oreo, snickers, jammy dodger, blah blah blah. Mediocre shite. Needless to say, I’m not a biscoff fan either.

Ben and Jerry’s ice cream - kind of like the above. Shove a load of highly sugary things together to distract from the fact none of it’s particularly good.

Halloween.

’Scandi’ style (and the word Scandi).

Mid-century furniture. Boring. Probably goes along with the Scandi thing.

Which leads me to... how ubiquitous trends make everywhere look the same. Looking at hotels online now, I’m seeing the same vaguely mid-century vibes everywhere. That and wicker. I don’t want bloody mid-century chairs that could have been bought at John Lewis if I’m going to the Maldives or something. I want to feel like I’ve actually gone somewhere different.

Vegay · 14/10/2022 00:28

Humans. I get on with people and love my friends and family. Don't particularly like the human race though - give me a dog any day.

Totally agree on the dogs, especially ones that like to jump in the river or stream and come out smelling of wet dog.
Kardashians - I just dont get it.
Guys with big beards - as its so close to food, I just think they are dirty..

Wineforbreakfast · 14/10/2022 00:36

Back to the future films - all of them! 🫣

lionsandwhales · 14/10/2022 00:42

😂😂😂😂 I have a dog and love her v much. She is a bit smelly and dribbles and demands more attention than my 2DS. My husband doesn’t feel the same way but was generous enough to indulge the rest of the family.

Friends
Chinese takeaways-who wants a plate of tasteless slop?
Takeaways in general, I've had 1 none-disappointing one in my entire life, the only one I've ever ordered for myself! Others were things I kind of got roped into 'Come round, we'll get a takeaway' kind of thing before I'd realised that they were all utter sh1te-never had one and thought it was nicer than my own cooking, I'd honestly rather eat a burger in wetherspoons

Chain restaurants

Hard (non-carpeted) floors (even before the heating crisis). Noisy, especially if you dare drop something, and then it always breaks, cold, remind me of when my parents couldn't afford carpets, or of a school hall or hospital.
Manicured, perfect gardens
Upcycled furniture

Any kind of small, yappy dog, especially oodles and brachy breeds. And the people who buy them.
