Didn’t know where to post. Redecorated my bathroom, new ceiling, painted. Had to get new Lino too. Nothing fancy. Bought a new bath mat. Lifted it the other day and it’s totally marked my new flooring. Iv scrubbed it with bleach still not coming off. I’m complaining to next, but not sure what they will do.

How disappointing, a bath mat is one thing you'd expect to be colourfast.

How do you want Next to resolve it? - it helps to be crystal clear about what solution you want when making a complaint.

KangarooKenny · 13/10/2022 12:26

Did your wash it before you used it ? Not that you should have to.

missbipolar · 13/10/2022 12:27

I would try pink stuff or toothpaste.

This!

Selfsabotagesocks · 13/10/2022 12:28

Have you tried old fashioned CIF or astonish? Something abrasive

ZeroFuchsGiven · 13/10/2022 12:28

Do you leave it down all the time? Confused

Youcancallmeirrelevant · 13/10/2022 12:29

Surely bath mat only goes down when you use it, then drape over bath to air dry?

Not suprised floor is marked if yoh left a wet bath mat on the floor

TescoCustomerService · 13/10/2022 12:32

Only real option is to see if they'll compensate you the cost to have it replaced. Not sure if it's where you've been scrubbing but it does look faded on one side, perhaps try a few different cleaning products and see if anything else works, separately of course, maybe something lightly abrasive.

44PumpLane · 13/10/2022 12:33

Two questions, did you wash it before it went down and do you lift it after use to dry away from the floor?

I would be very upset if I were you though as obviously this is not what you expect. I wouldn't ever think to wash a bath mat before it goes down but I do lift mats to dry off of the floor just so they can dry properly.

AdobeWanKenobi · 13/10/2022 13:09

I've had issues with Next bathroom products myself, though in my case it was a mirror and matching loo roll holder that rusted about 14 months after they went in.
Seems Next haven't figured out that bathrooms are damp places still.

sandytooth · 13/10/2022 13:10

How long has it been on the floor?

FlowersareEverything · 13/10/2022 13:19

It looks like you may have just been leaving it on the floor, even when wet, and the dye has run.
Do you remember if the washing instructions said to wash before use?

This, 100%

princesssparklepants · 13/10/2022 13:24

Try a magic eraser... works on pretty much everything!

Obki · 13/10/2022 13:55

I think it was pretty much guaranteed that would stain, tbh.

If it was me, I would scrub it with elbow grease and warm soapy water. It will fade in time.

eh? Were did I my post say I left it wet on the floor? Surely it gets a bit wet when you step on it after coming out of the bath shower?
anyway enough of the plonkers!
i always after my bath, hang it over the bath to dry. It never sits on the floor to dry. Plus it was washed when I bought. There is no way this should have damaged my flooring like this. Thank you to all the posts with some useful cleaning tip. Thanks
