not to be able to create a sublist in word

posting here for traffic but I'm drafting a document and it's driving me mad.

I am writing a list of paragraphs numbered 1-7.
So far so good.
When i get to 7 , I want to have 7(i),(ii) (iii) and then go back to my original list and start para 8 but I can't do it

Can anyone help?

I used to use Word quite a lot several years ago and multi-level lists (which is what it sounds like you want) used to work fine and pretty much automatically. I've very recently (a couple of days ago) needed to do the same and it's been a nightmare. My best advice is to try and find a YouTube video that explains how to do it, cos for me it involved lots of messing with lists, paragraphs and styles and I'm not sure I can remember it, let alone describe it!
