Well, in London and South East?
Temps have been up to 19C and look to be that way well into the end of the month. I remember past years when it was really cold in October. Now it only seems to be in the morning and later evenings.

October is always warmer than you remember it and March always colder.

I'm on the Essex coast. I still have tomatoes on vines in the garden, had the back door open for a couple of hours on Monday to let the freshly mopped floors dry. We still have our summer duvet on the beds and the heating has not gone on yet. However, I sometimes need a jumper in our north-facing living room during the day and a fluffy blanket in the evening, but it's still very mild. Worrying really, isn't it?
I remember about 10 years ago it was hot enough at the beginning of October to take the kids down the beach; that was unheard of then.

It's going to be 3 degrees here for the school run tomorrow. 🥶

Yeah, it's not in the Midlands.

Saw a report that the North will be getting snow soon, as well.

I agree, I’m SE and our heating came on for the first time tonight.

BBC weather forecast last night said that the temps were average for this time of year. I think I always expect October to be cooler than it actually is

We're in South Yorkshire. Today was the first day that I've been a little bit chilly, but it's been quite cloudy. When the sun is out it's warm, still.

March is always bloody freezing. I hate it. The way it lures you in with it’s pretty daffodils. Then freezes the bollocks off you

It was 6 degrees here yesterday morning. Southeast. It did warm up over the course of the day though.

I'm north Hampshire, it's been 2-3° about 6:30 several mornings. Most days have warmed up & been nice, but one day stayed at 9° A little chilly.

I think it's about the same as usual, a mix of warm & cool days with some cold starts to the day!

It’s warm during the day

I remember the really warm 2019 winter as the roses kept blooming

It’s not even mid October yet. Late September and early October are always mild.

It feels nothing like summer though, I leave for work at 06:30 and it’s very cold!

Make the most of it, all downhill from November.

I disagree, north west and it's been dark and rainy for what seems like weeks. October is usually very mild with many blue skies and t-shirt days but I've needed fleeces, coats and wool socks nearly every day and it's definitely been too cold for sandals for weeks.

I have a mid October birthday and I have memories of many days just like today. It’s not that unusual. I’ve been paddling (and even swimming) in the sea at this time of year.

I have also experienced howling gales and torrential rain for my birthday, but it’s not usually cold. In my experience the temperature usually plummets towards the end of this month, usually when the clocks change.

October is always quite varied. There's a cold snap due this month.

Don’t think it’s any warmer than usual. I’m NW and it’s mild, but just feels like typical Autumn weather. Because I’m looking at my electricity usage a lot, I can see that this time last year we hadn’t yet put the heating on so it must’ve been similar temperature-wise. FB memories earlier in the month shows me wearing t-shirts outside in years past.

Still so warm and almost November. I have to have the windows open overnight as it gets so warm in the bedroom.

I think it's really warm! Definitely no need for heating yet and I'm in the North (although I am in a newer build).

It’s not unusual in the south east, 3 family members have married in October over the last decade and at all of their weddings the weather was mild enough to wear a dress with no coat.

Not especially, I don't think? October is often mild with lovely weather and flowers still blooming. We usually get our first frost in November, with the real winter cold in January and February.

Forecasters are predicting a colder than usual early winter this year (graphs are looking like the winter of 2010/11).

Urk - 2010/11 was 'orrible. We had snow for weeks and really low temps.

Interesting conversation here about warm Octobers, I remember the one in 1985 when it was warmer than now

I’m in Glasgow and it’s 16 degrees here, really muggy and horrible. It is definitely warm but I’ll admit, I do this every year! I go into November thinking ‘hmm, winter isn’t that bad, I must have misremembered how bad it is’, then bam - January and February are god-awful.

I’m not a fan of hot summer weather but I hate, hate, hate driving in the dark, trying not to break my neck on the snow and ice, waking up in the dark and blinding myself with the bedside lamp five days a week. I’d happily fast-forward to the 1st April from here!

North west here and very mild and still mostly dry and bright. Our pony hasn't even had a rug on at night yet as it's been above 10 degrees most nights.
