Are you completely incapable of checking this for yourself?

So many people are spreading covid unknowingly. You won’t be the only one with it on that plane. I get the moral implication but doesn’t really seem fair to you.

Why did you bother testing in the first place?

Must be someone like the OP who infected my partner and me when we came back from holiday a few weeks ago. We both tested positive and were poorly a few days after we got back.

Fortunately, we weren't seriously ill (though my partner dropped 8lbs in less than a week and as she's tiny, that was quite worrying) but if we'd been vulnerable or in close contact with someone vulnerable, it could have been very serious. As soon as we knew we were infected, we quarantined ourselves until we tested negative.

Infected people really shouldn't put themselves in confined spaces with aload of others for hours at a time.

Many people don’t know they’re infected. You could have been infected whilst you were away rather than on the journey home.

I'd probably go - I wouldn't have tested for Covid and would fly as long as I was feeling able to.

If you are testing negative by then, I would. It's 5 days away...

There are no requirements to isolate. If you or your dc have Covid there is no requirement to stay home. It's everywhere. Others on the plane will have it. Some knowingly. Some not. It's pretty pointless isolating when the rest of the country/plane/Spain isn't

And this is why I still wear FFP3 masks on planes. Because there's always some vile, selfish berk who is happy to infect a plane load of people so they can do what they want.

It's everywhere because people go out and spread it knowing they have it. It's one thing to be asymptomatic and not know. It's quite another to KNOW you have it and choose to get on a plane, probably unmasked.

Technically you can as there's no longer a requirement to isolate in either country but the airline may have their own rules. It's pretty irresponsible to knowingly board with covid. I would take a test Saturday and only travel if negative

I have run out of tests, I am carrying on as before.
I would fly with a cold if I felt well and it wasn’t affecting my ears, so I may well fly with Covid in the future, but I wouldn’t know.
Time we all got over this!

To get into Spain, you need to show a negative test taken within 72 hours of departure.

I don't know if Spain require a negative test for entering or not. If not, I'd go

For me, it depends on the legality of it. Morally, I would have no issues travelling when positive with Covid as long as they weren't requiring me to pass a test before flying, as obviously I wouldn't be able to.

For me, the government are acting as if there is no surge, the advice is to carry on as normal, so that is what I have been doing.

I tested positive a few weeks back and I still went to work, that's company policy now so I would have lost money if I hadn't gone in.

So you are wearing the masks everywhere then? Elevators? Office buildings? Supermarkets? Public transport? Or is it just on places that people are vile? Isolating is no longer a thing.

You can’t say it’s everywhere because people knowingly have covid and go out and about. What about the fact that loads of people have it without knowing and then spread it? This is likely the major source of spreading. Which you coulD argue really negates the point of isolating if you know youhave covid but that’s the moral argument being discussed here.

If you read that link properly you'll see you don't have to do that if you are fully vaccinated.

I've got a family member who is CEV flying over on Saturday, threads like this make my blood run cold. I lost my dad to Covid in February. Are people really so selfish?

I'm due to travel to Spain next week for the first time since 2019, I'm CEV and I've have really got to go before a terminally ill family member passes away. Threads like these terrify me.

@FarmGirl78 where did you have to show a clear test? Spain dropped that requirement a while ago. I haven’t had to show one in a while.
or have they reinstated it?!

also, no temperature sensors at Barcelona airport.

I’m sorry that you have to face this situation and are obviously worried. Can I ask though, how do you feel going out and about doing your normal business now, knowing that so many people have covid and don’t know about it? I totally get that people would call someone selfish for going in a plane knowing they have covid, but covid is likely everywhere, no one is really testing anymore and many have none or mild symptoms so anyone we talk to or spend time with at any time could have it.

Are you just as terrified about the common cold or flu that you catch in the supermarket?
