To be v worried about ingesting this nasal spray

Oxymetazoline (?) it is called, from Boots. Standard nasal decongestant spray for a horrid virus.

The bottle wasn’t producing anything when I squeezed it upright so had to angle it a little. Anxious now that I have indeed had too much of it. I definitely swallowed most of the 2 sprays worth as it went straight down the back of my throat - awful taste.

Health anxiety central over here. Happy to be told I’m overreacting. Logically I reason they wouldn’t sell a product for use in the nose without tolerance of some being swallowed, but there’s always the what if!

I’m not a doctor and I’ve never used it, but what you say about thinking logically sounds a more likely outcome than becoming seriously Ill from an extra squirt or two.
I use Vicks first defence and that definitely goes down my throat. I don’t think you need to worry.

All nasal sprays go down your throat

Unless you down the whole bottle you’ll be grand. The tolerances for medicines are always significantly higher than the dosage stated, especially OTC ones.
You can’t license something if a tiny margin of error will be harmful.
