Dog poo on school run

NotPooTroll · 11/10/2022 09:05

Have just done the school run, and once again the main pavement towards the school is littered with dog poo. Fresh heaps, plonked right in the middle of the pavement where about 100 kids walk on their way to school. Squelch. 🤮

It is grim.

All the parents shouting at the kids to avoid stepping into the poo, its become an obstacle course.

So WIBU to buy a can of bright neon chalk spray ( It washes off like pavement chalk) and to start graffiti-ing the pavement with anti dog poo slogans?

Or is that a bit batshit?

Go for it. Also check if your council has a dog warden - ours has a "report dog poo" webpage. We used to have a phantom dog shitter who seemingly walked their pack of monster shitting dogs along the roads around school so that the pavement was covered in larger than human turds. We were advised to use the Report A Poo page and it stopped very quickly.

My council has an online reporting facility. Just report it and they take action

Great name 💩

Of course, do it!

Maybe we live in the same place?

but yes it's vile. I think it's when dogs are walked Off lead at night and the owners turn a blind eye to them shitting - not all owners, I have a dog and most of us pick it up.

we've had it right outside the school gate before so it's inevitably got stood in and walked into the school.

I don't have much advice but you should be able to report to the council!

I put flour on it. Cheap, obvious, and alright for the environment (plus I already have it at home)... With the bonus that it looks a bit suspicious and might hopefully encourage people to be wary of their dogs (and clean up after them)

Snog · 11/10/2022 10:53

Flour? That's interesting, what is the purpose of this?

Our parish council funded some sprays; some volunteers carried them and sprayed a circle round the dog poo to help those following a bit later to avoid it. It doesn't solve the problem of the irresponsible dog owners, but it did reduce the amount tramped into the school.

I wonder if we live in the same place because our school route is littered with dog poo. It is so disgusting.

It's gross (I have a dog) we have to go through two alleyways to get to school and I walk in front shouting 'poo!' 'poo'! Like some harridan. It was worse when I had to navigate a double buggy through it.

I've got a terrier size dog, it seems to be huge mounds of shit that don't get picked up.
