To test the baby puke?

So my daughter , A new young mum has concerns that her 12 week old babies dad is making her unwell and we need to find out the truth.
she has a prescription for soya based formula due to suspected CMPA . Has been thriving since the switch and symptoms improved so that’s all good. When baby visits her dad she comes back in obvious discomfort and is bringing up cottage cheese looking vomit .
dad did say he disagreed with the switch and there had already been back and forth about this but had agreed and promised to feed the prescription milk . Now obviously we think he’s lying. There are test strips available used for food production that test for the presence of dairy on surfaces and in food ( including cooked / processed / mixed with other stuff etc) so I cannot see any reason that we couldn’t swab her puke with it as soon as we collect her? Probably film it too to prove what’s been happening. It’s effectively abuse I believe to knowingly give little one something that is harming her so I think we need to just buy these strips and get to the bottom of this .
opinions welcome and Extra bonus points to anyone who has clinical or scientific knowledge of this stuff.

thanks 🙏

I'm so shocked at what I've just read! What kind of Dad would do that?!

If you did get the strips and they showed dairy, would you stop all contact immediately?

GreenIsle · 10/10/2022 21:13

100% I would be testing this, your daughters health is so important.

AutumnScream · 10/10/2022 21:14

If the test strips are accurate why even ask?! Get it tested and tell your daughter to keep a diary of every time she is sick after visiting her dad. Time, date, description.

If he is really doing this he needs reporting to ss thats abuse.

PinkButtercups · 10/10/2022 21:14

Yes I'd test!

AutumnScream · 10/10/2022 21:14

Also without a court order if your dd suspects a safeguarding concern she can refuse to send her child to her father.

Regularsizedrudy · 10/10/2022 21:16

Wow that is awful! I wouldn’t let him have time alone with the baby if I suspected this

Sunnyqueen · 10/10/2022 21:20

Yeah do it. Wouldn't be the first dad/grandparent/auntie etc. Who thinks they know better.

Thanks all. I am going to go ahead and order the tests . It’s a lot of money to me right now but I’ll find it somehow . I’m furious . DD is stopping contact for time being until we have the tests ready and will report to HV what’s been happening and let her either escalate it to SS or give ex a serious bollocking if it’s more a case of him being thick and not believing the DX. That all needs unravelling by a professional I think.
im no chemist , but I just knew some sort of test would exist and Google delivered so we’ll go ahead .
