Yodel are pants

Ordered a present for DD’s birthday on same day I order stuff from TU.
TU delivered by Yodel arrived fine but the present received by yodel hub on same day never arrived. It went out for delivery on day 1 and by 9pm the driver was in stop 83 out of 151, so clearly not going to make it.
I updated to say leave with neighbour in case I’m out as realised it could be a nightmare as there was no safe place option.
day 2 , I notice that at 4pm driver is 20 stops away. I was in all afternoon in front room. 5pm it’s updated to
say, card left, sorry we missed you. I live down a cup de sac and there were no vehicles down my end for half an hour, no card left and oh why did you not leave with neighbours as requested.
Since then, I have not been able to contact yodel
at all and it says delivery date unavailable at this time for the last 3 days.
Now too late for birthday. I am tempted to go back to seller - online shop and ask for refund. Yodel has not attempted delivery, I’m sure they are lying deliberately so they keep their contracts with these shops as if they didn’t attempt delivery two days in a row that would be s contract breach or something?
any ideas of what I can do?

Wait until Tuesday and then complain to the seller that your parcel wasn't delivered to your address at all. Explain you were in your home when the first delivery was attempted.

Yodel and Evri (Hermes) are both equally as shit. I can only guarantee my parcel is delivered if I use a parcel shop. DHL just openly lie but the deliveries are actually delivered at a later date.
