To give buyers on Vinted poor feedback

If they are slow to mark goods as received?
I am really fed up of buyers receiving my stuff and then taking 9, 10, 14 days to mark as received. It means it takes nearly a month for me to get the money. Aibu to give those that do this a low star rating and comment that they were slow to mark goods as received?

I was pestered by one seller to mark as received literally as soon as it was delivered to the door. I was out for the day and didn't get home until late that night. I know people want their money and I do mark as received as soon as I've opened it and checked but that seller made me feel very uncomfortable.

Same for me recently - a message within minutes of it being marked as delivered and then another one two hours later. I was at work! Really pettily I then waited a few days to mark as received rather than doing it immediately upon opening as I normally do because being chased like that had irritated me.

If you collect from an Evri shop do you still need to confirm in the app?

Yes because you're not just clicking to say you have it but also that it's as described and expected. If you don't mark as received and ok the app will do it for you after a few days, but that's the delay that the sellers are complaining about; they get their money quicker if you mark that you've got it and are happy with it on the app.

I don’t think you can mark down the seller for Vinted’s poor system. I never leave feedback on eBay or Vinted etc, it’s a faff I cant be bothered with. If you don’t like the way Vinted is set up then by all means sell in a different way, but in my opinion the only obligation a seller has is to pay. After that leaving feedback is not viewed as an essential part of the transaction, take it up with Vinted if you are waiting longer than you’d like to be paid, if enough people complain maybe they’ll change their model, or use an alternative like eBay or Facebook marketplace.

@Hardbackwriter I genuinely didn't know this or get a notification to do it.

@MichelleScarn @Downandout01
I've been selling for weeks, and am down quite a lot because of how much more Royal Mail charge compared to how much Vinted do.
Was on the forum yesterday and discovered it's because Vinted base their prices on the RM collect at home option. It's a lot cheaper than going in to the post office.
Like you I've no printer however apparently the postman brings the label to the door when they collect the parcel.
All collect at home prices tally with Vinted. Hope this helps

I don't think it's unreasonable to mark down one star for taking ages to mark it as received- everyone knows you don't get the money till then. I would say maybe message first though and if they read your message and don't reply to say they haven't received it or just ignore the message (it will tell you when message is seen,) I think then fine to mark them down a bit. Everyone is selling to make money after all. Ne the same if someone took 2 weeks to post an item with no communication.

Can someone give me an idiots guide in a few lines on how VINTED works?
ive just downloaded the app and have a few black bags of clothes.
mostly baby clothes. Is it worth selling it on there or just putting to charity?

@Letsbekindplease
Before you start selling anything, find your shopping options and select the ones that will be simple for you. Try not to have too many!

Selling is easy. Just click the button at the bottom. Take a few photos. Of the overall product, usually the label is good, and any marks. The lowest you can list things for is £1 so things like odd T-shirts you may want to sell a few similar ones together. Completing the listing is easy - just add the size, brand, and a note about the condition. You’ll be alerted when stuff sells, and what their shipping method is complete with shipping instructions.

how do you know they’ve definitely received it? I live in the far north of Scotland and it’s marked as received when it reaches Aberdeen and is put in the care of local couriers… may well take another week to reach me. And the post office is just about to make things trickier.

give “me” poor feedback if you like - I care not one bit.

if you want instant money use fb or eBay - Vinted’s business model is very different even aside my personal problems with couriers.

Wow! Do royal mail not deliver your post to the door? I had no idea! I thought they had to go everywhere

I didn't know you had to do this. I just checked my last purchase & the app had done automatic feedback.

It does if you've taken too long to mark it as received yourself..
