Does anyone on here use cbd for anxiety? Has it helped it all? I'm looking at getting a cbd vape but not sure it's worth it

I love mine it definitely relaxes me. Have to have a very strong one though.

Kcheey · 08/10/2022 21:16

Iv never tried cbd but know a lot of people that swear by it for pain and anxiety. The best thing to do is give it a go, there’s no harm in trying and if it helps then great

Bluepixel · 08/10/2022 21:22

I use CBD oil in droplet form orally. I can honestly say it has helped me. Although it wont stop your anxiety it does take the edge off of it a little. I guess it probably depends on the strength you use and I have never vaped it. Hope this helps.

GetOffTheRoof · 08/10/2022 21:26

Expensive waste of my money. Saw absolutely zero benefits for pain, chronic migraine, anxiety or depression. Spent months trying different oils.

And TBH, the worst thing is the absolute bores I met who drone on and on and on about dosage, brand etc despite no independent evidence that any oils/drops/capsules I bought contained the % or strength I was promised.

I took oral drops, can't vape - it chokes me. If I had money to burn I might try again, but it cost me a fortune for nil gain.

Pebble21uk · 08/10/2022 21:31

I used CBD Brother's Purple Oil for anxiety... I found it really helped me over the course of a few months. It's not so much an instant thing. That said I'm now using their silver oil for sleep and finding it more useful within a week than the sleeping tablets the doctor gave me!

missbipolar · 08/10/2022 21:41

I vape anyway which is why I think the vape is the way to go?

Mixed reviews but guess it's worth a shot! I've used weed and find that helps but I don't want to do it that often so thinking using cbd might help

Tried cbd highest strength I could find for anxiety I wanted it to help so much but it didn’t and I took it religiously for 6 months, nothing…

I have found that 5HTP does help a bit but I have to take a LOT more Than the stated dose as recommended to me by my endocrinologist

I use the Darwin vape 2000mg one. It's the strongest one I can find. It's 3500 puffs using it every evening pretty much constantly lasts me 3 weeks ish and it's £18. Don't expect it to be anywhere near as good as weed because it's not (nothing is 😭😭😭) but it's about as good as 10 or 15mg diazepam I find.

tinx · 08/10/2022 22:06

@Sunnyqueen Doesn't marijuana make anxiety worse?

missbipolar · 08/10/2022 22:08

@titinx people react differently- it's always helped me immensely- but I know someone else who gets more paranoid on it

Nope not in the slightest for me, makes it all my stress and anxiety go away so I'm just happy and relaxed oh and sleep like a baby too.

tinx · 08/10/2022 22:13

@Sunnyqueen @missbipolar

I didn’t know this

I swear the other night I nearly had a panic attack thinking about my son going to uni it’s always just when I go to bed the anxiety gets worse and thoughts keep me awake

if they ever make it legal I might try it,

maybe 🤔 but I’m scared 😂

Can you tell me more? Strength etc please.

i use capsules at the moment. I started them initially to help with joint pain from HMS. I was waking in the night a lot with horrific hand pain and extremely sore joints in both hands.
it didn’t stop it, but there was a marked difference in pain level and frequency after 6 weeks on the capsules.
Ive since read the drops are better so am interested to swap but don’t know where to start.

I initially started using CBD following a recommendation from my GP for the treatment of joint pain and nerve damage to my knee. It really helped in this regard and I noticed that it also had a positive effect on my anxiety and PTSD symptoms, so happy days 😀
I have been using 2.75% CBD oil by Jacob Hooy from Holland & Barrett for around a year now. I know that it can be purchased in a stronger concentration but I haven’t tried anything stronger yet.

Thank you. It’s Jacob Hooey. Capsules from there I currently take but looks like the oil is a bit cheaper. Might swap to that next time. Thank you.

Tried a CBD vape. High dose, high quality. Did nothing for me.

Been on CPD oil (again, high dose and quality) for months - sadly, no difference to anxiety or pain at all. I will finish the 6 month supply, but I won’t bother replacing it. Complete waste of money!

merlinpass · 23/03/2023 04:21

Does anyone know if it can have adverse affects?

Did you get one op? I have bipolar and my meds just aren’t cutting it at the moment so have ordered a 5000mg cbd vape that will hopefully help til I’m stable again

Foundation31 · 31/05/2023 18:00

Just looking for info….

Can anyone tell me which cbd oil to use for back pain/sciatica? The cbd brothers get great reviews and I’ve looked on their website but don’t know which one to order as there’s so many. Any info would be great in trying to ease the pain !!

I swear by it. I love the peppermint night drops from the brand Claudia Winkleman advertises. Really help me. I read loads of reviews first and that brand kept scoring highly and they were reasonably priced.

I tried it for sleep, didn't help. My husband tried it once and he felt more anxious/ paranoid. No harm trying but just be aware it's not for everyone. My husband always had a bad experience with weed to, fwiw.

theduchessofspork · 13/01/2024 17:43

I misread this as CBT - that would be more useful..
