Would you object to a house guest doing this?

I don’t think I am overreacting but who knows?

backstory - came down to houseguest rinsing our sinuses over a bowl. In my kitchen! They propose to do it over the kitchen sink, draining the used water into the sink. I want them to do this in the bathroom as it is unhygienic.

IABU - they should continue to use the kitchen
iANBU - this is unhygienic and should be done in the bathroom

How did they manage to rinse your sinuses when you were upstairs?

I do this to help with bad hayfever as I get terrible sinus headaches. It revolutionized my life. I do it in the bathroom. I don’t know why you want to do it in someone else’s kitchen.

As for those asking about rinsing, Google netty pots.

Some people do it. Most don’t. If you do, you need to be careful as it’s killed one woman by introducing an amoeba to her brain.

DillDanding · 08/10/2022 18:27

That is beyond disgusting.

VerifiedBot2351 · 08/10/2022 18:28

Ew that should be done in their own home. Gross

is this another one of those “hygiene” things that actually aren’t very at all?

OldTinHat · 08/10/2022 18:56

🤮

Bathroom. It’s not something others should be subjected to and should not be happening in an area where food is being made.
