Apart from the fact that it means the clock in the car will be wrong for six months, I just think it is a faff that doesn't give any benefit to the vast majority of people.

YABU - just change the clocks you snowflake

YANBU - It's daft and we shouldn't do it anymore

I live in the south-east of England but despite that I think the clocks need to go back because the mornings would be painfully dark from November to February otherwise, and obviously worse the further north (and west) you go.

However, why do we have to wait so long for the clocks to go forward again? I'd be all for them going forward at the beginning of March rather than at the end. First Sunday in March, not last Sunday.

when I was at senior school ( we lived in Croydon) I had to leave my house and 7am and in the winter it was dark then. I can’t see why it would be harder in the afternoon. Children leave school a fair amount earlier then most people leave work

Why? When we experimented before, it was on the basis of sticking with BST, and it would make sense to go for that option now.

And that time it didn't work, why would it work this time?

I think I remember mum telling me that they didn't put the clocks back one year as an experiment and what happened was loads more road accidents as everyone was driving to work and walking/driving to school in the pitch darkness.

This.
