My DD is 3.5 and has been going since she turned 2. She recently went into the preschool room so new staff. She used to love going but doesn’t now she has changed rooms. She tells me she doesn’t want to go to nursery and gets upset when we get there. She told me the other day that a girl there hit her in the head and hurt her and that she isn’t her friend but the staff said this did not happen. She holds her wee in the whole time when she is there too and won’t wee until she gets home. What would you do?

It took my 3 year old about 4 weeks to get used to the new nursery Room, she has been going to nursery since age 1 and changed rooms twice before with no problems. But this change has been much trickier. She also has trouble going to the toilet there - although no problems at all at home, on holiday at friends houses or in any other places. It's difficult. In our case at least I like and trust the staff but you sound unsure. I think change gets more difficult at this age so if it's been only a couple of weeks things may improve. Can you get them to give a decent reward for weeing at nursery? Or you could if they let you know. A decent new toy or something. And try to talk to your daughter about what exactly the problem is?
