AIBU?

To have shouted her back

Went to the supermarket with DSD earlier, both of us needed the toilet so we went to the ones available to customers. There are two cubicles and both were in use so we waited. As the previous occupant (early 40s maybe) came out I went in and there was wee all over the seat, I instinctively asked her if she could go back in and wipe it (wouldn’t have had the guts with time to think). DSD12 was mortified and said it was humiliating for the woman and that DSD wanted the ground to swallow her up. In hindsight, I’m glad she cleaned her own wee rather than me having to clean it or sit in it. DSD is never going out of the house with me again apparently.

WIBU?

I don't think there's any harm in asking as long as she didn't look aggressive

Dunno if I’d have had the guts to say anything but good on you. Some people don’t give a shit how scruffy they are even when it affects other people…makes you wonder what her house looks like!

How do you know it was the woman’s wee? She might have been hovering after someone else weed on it?

Did she clean it?

She must have been very embarrassed.

I mean I'm impressed by your balls tbh (if she was the one weed on the seat then good on you)

By any chance you have a teen in the house. What she said is giving my flashbacks to a conversation between DH and DSD 😂 ?

Assuming you didn't look like you were gonna thump the women or yelling it across the supermarket I think your all good. Teens tend to be easily embarrassed, I would explain that women tend to be passive in this world and sometimes you have to call people on their shit (or in this case wee)

Yes, it was scruffy of her to leave piss on the seat.

However, it's equally as bizarre and rude to rush out and have a go at someone and ask them to clean it up. It might not have even been hers? She could've hovered above the seat where someone elses piss was.

You were totally rude and caused a scene in public for no reason. Your poor DSD.

I dunno I’m guessing you’ve written this hoping folks will give you a bit of go girl. But honestly I’m assuming you’re either talking shite or are very rude.

YABU. I always hover. There's often other ppls wee on the seat. It doesn't mean it was hers.

Good!

Honestly, the number of times I walked into toilet, backed out and decided to hold it home is unreal. I have VERY well trained bladder now!

If it wasn't hers she could have said that surely? If she was squeamish enough to hover / not to clean it in the first place surely she wouldn't have done it at the OPs behest? So long as you didn't scream or swear at her I don't think its unreasonable to ask an adult to clean up after themselves?

You don't think it's weird to rush out and tell a stranger to clean up piss? She probably didn't even realise she'd done it. How embarrassing for the poor woman, and equally as embarrassing for the SD.

So the woman should be embarrassed. Why would you leave wee all over the seat?!

However, I wouldn’t have said anything as it could have been water splashing from the flush ?

I can’t believe I said it! It came out before I realised it had, it’s something that I say to DP or DSD when they leave a mess at home so I’m not sure if it came out as a result of being in a toilet with her and not thinking before speaking. The woman just did a bit of a woops sorry and then got some tissue. It didn’t even cross my mind that it wouldn’t be hers if I’m honest. If she had said it isn’t mine I wouldn’t have reacted badly.

More people should say it.

I have no idea why people think someone else should be cleaning up results of their bodily functions tbh

This is exactly what I'm saying. It probably wasn't even hers and she didn't realise it was there, so no reason to go out and publicly embarrass her.

This- I'd never embarrass someone like that. For all you know she could have issues with balance or eyesight. Also could it have been water that splashed up out of the bowl on flushing. I get that it's gross but if I was dsd I'd have been mortified too.

I've had children and my bladder isn't what it was....🙄
I absolutely use the loo, wipe, sort clothes out and then turn around to check the seat. I wouldn't dream of leaving the toilet with wee on the seat.

So your DP and DSD do it at home? Let's hope someone pulls them both up publicly then?

What's wrong with them?
