Mercenary care home owners

My lovely mum has just died after five years in a wonderful dementia care home and we are all obviously very upset. The staff had been wonderful, caring, kind etc and haven't rushed us to sort out mums room etc. I have since received an email from the owner with mums final invoice attached chasing payment. The email made no reference to mum at all no condolences, nothing. I know I'm extra sensitive right now, but bloody hell could he not have waited another week. He'll get his money but right now it's not high on our priorities with organising funeral etc. Would I be petty to send a snotty email back or should I just let it slide.

YANBU at all but sadly I'm not surprised. Care home owners are only interested in one thing - profit. In their eyes the residents and the staff are just there to make them as much cash as possible. Mercenary is the right word.
