What is reasonable

Posting here for traffic really.

I travel a lot for work. 2-3 days a week I’m in airports and on the road.
In the last month I have been grabbed and kissed by a man (within my place of work I had travelled too). In the last few days at an airport gate waiting for my delayed flight home, a very drunken man started to hurl abuse at me, called me a vile string of names, took photos of me, screamed some more until eventually someone intervened and he stopped. He then went on to accuse me of stealing his belongings (he was so drunk he forgot he moved them) before airport police were called.

right now I’m really scared and stressed about travelling alone. I’ve signed up to self defence classes. I already see a therapist so I am working through the above. But I don’t feel safe.
I know if I tell my manager, or ask for a break from travel for a bit it will be used against me (as in, I’ll be told if I want to work in a male dominated field I need to behave like a man and get over this).

so what, if anything can I reasonably request to keep myself safe?

I don't think not traveling for work is the right move. It sounds like 2 unfortunate incidents where you were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Not to say that they weren't upsetting but I don't think allowing it to affect your work will be right long term.

I don’t want to not travel ever. I just want a break. Those two incidents are the most recent ones and both incredibly scary, intimidating and worrying
