AIBU to think most designer good you see are fake? Noticed a very famous reality tv star promoting a replica website on Instagram. The selection of replica items was insane, so they must be easy to get an no longer limited to overseas travel or black markets. The amount of very expensive bags you see on the high street leads me to think that a high percentage of it must be fake, surely most people don't have a grand to spend on a bag, especially a lot of younger people.

Some might be second hand rather than counterfeit, but yes, I expect there are a lot of fakes out there - there seems to be a good trade in authenticating items.

Some absolutely are fake but there are a lot of people who do buy the real deal - I am one of them and I have friends who do as well. There's a great second hand market for well looked after designer bags. And don't forget that some people live on credit. Just because they have the bags, doesn't mean they can afford them.
Some of the fakes these days are pretty damn good too, truly identical.
