Still viewing houses after offer accepted

I know I am but here we go
Our offer was accepted on Wednesday for a nice house in a not right area. To be honest I felt a little pressured as we viewed at half five and they wanted all offers by 9am the following day.
I can't quite put it into words but I don't feel excited by the house. It's too far, there's no high street, it's not got parking. Would I be unreasonable to go to the bookings which I already booked for this weekend and then see if any house gave me that feeling. They could probably still go back to the other people that offered if we did choose another one.
Or my gut is telling me to just pull out now and wait a bit for something perfect to come up?

Do your sellers a favour and pull out now, rather than further down the line. Give them chance to sell to someone who actually wants to buy it.

dontputitthere · 30/09/2022 17:40

Don't be that person.

Pull out now and let them find a buyer.

cravattwat · 30/09/2022 17:45

You don't want the house so pull out, don't hedge your bets.

porkandbeans · 30/09/2022 17:45

If your seller find out be prepared to lose the house.

This happened to the people we brought our house from. They stopped our second viewing as they had an offer that was accepted. Found out that they were still looking. Withdrew from the sale. We were then able to view the house a second time and we are now living in that house.

It's not a good way to do business

Nothing is binding until contracts are exchanged. Are any of your weekend appointments with the same EA? The EAs might well get sniffy about you not cancelling if so.

Otherwise, crack on. In the early stages the putative purchaser is the main loser if a sale falls through, and that's you.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 30/09/2022 17:47

I'm hoping you're not our buyer!

We accepted an offer on Wednesday after a higher bidder had second thoughts and pulled out. It was stressful, but that's just how it goes. You should pull out now though, if you're not sure - it's just the decent thing to do.

Ducksinthebath · 30/09/2022 17:49

See the others and use the house you’ve offered on as a benchmark.

And not to be a downer but I recently had two purchases fall through so I’m glad I kept looking throughout. It’s not a done deal until you complete.

piglets29 · 30/09/2022 17:54

Our buyers took 7 weeks to decide they wanted to place an offer on a different property. They wasted all that time and now it is absolutely impossible to find a buyer. So do not piss them around is what I say, as a stressed person who now can't sell the house and is likely to lose the house we've offered on. It affects so many people. I will let rip if I bump into our ex buyers.

starfishmummy · 30/09/2022 18:31

Better to pull out now tather than weeks down the line.

mynameiscalypso · 30/09/2022 18:36

Well, there's not really much point pulling out at 5pm on a Friday so I don't see the harm in seeing others and then making a decision on Monday.

confused162 · 30/09/2022 18:38

@JesusInTheCabbageVan do you mind me asking if you got the asking price?

Blossomandbee · 30/09/2022 18:41

Go with your gut it's clearly not the right house for you. Location is the one thing you can't change about a house.

We got over the asking price, but I'm in Wales and it's the sort of house that will always be in demand anyway (3 bed, large garden, decent area). Seems like there's quite a lot of variation depending on where you are in the country.

Of course it's still early days and it could all go tits up, so trying not to get too excited just yet...

DawkinsOldSpot · 30/09/2022 19:26

You clearly don’t want to buy it so just pull out now.

girlmom21 · 30/09/2022 19:34

Pull out now. You don't want the house so don't waste anyones time.
