I have just started a new job at a very big telecoms company. I am in a manager level band but working in a specialised team. The guy who is training me is absolutely horrific. He called a customer a lying bitch (in the training) as a joke on my 2nd day! He swears constantly (I don't mind swearing but it is so unprofessional) and tells endless unfunny anecdotes on my training time.

Now of course I know none of this is OK. But they are a small well established team and clearly all get along well and are friends outside of work.

Would you say something to your new manager? She must know he's like this. And risk being disliked from day one, or shall I grit My teeth for the next week and then forget about it.

Grit. Establish yourself. Then work to change the culture.
