To wait for the appointment?

Hi all,

I have a 21 month old son who can't walk, he's always seemed to have a bit of an issue with his ankles sort of buckling under him where if you tried to hold him up they'd buckle and he'd cry.

I took him to the doctors at 16 months and I've got an appointment with the paediatrician on the 1st December 2022.

Lately he has been using furniture to climb up, he doesn't stay on his feet for long but can pull himself up but if we try and stand him up on us or away from the furniture his ankles will buckle and he'll start crying.

Our childminder has mentioned this and his hips too and I just feel really helpless because if he's in pain we're waiting another three months before he's seen.

Has anyone experienced anything similar and what happened?

Or any ideas of what I should do?

i would push to try and be seen sooner to be honest, what if it caused an injury while he's trying to stand up for example?
i'd possibly also look into ankle supports/leg braces to see if they help in the meantime
