So, I'm currently in bed in full.pjammas and bed socks, a hot water bottle and two duvets. I'm frozen!! I got out of bed to check the thermostat thinking DH must have turned it down, but it says the house is currently 20°.

So is there something wrong with me?

Sounds like you have a fever- can you check your temperature op?

WildImaginings · 29/09/2022 23:47

It's not just you. We don't have the heating on because i'm the only one who's cold!

phishy · 29/09/2022 23:47

Best to call a GP in the morning, no one here can say what”s wrong with you.

sweetkitty · 29/09/2022 23:48

I felt like that yesterday woke up this morning with a sore throat and a runny nose. Definitely got the cold.

Does that warrant calling the GP?!

if otherwise healthy then even if coming down with a bug not a lot the GP can do

call the GP to tell them she’s cold?! even if she has a fever, what’s the GP meant to do about it? Confused

mackthepony · 30/09/2022 01:42

I think op means she is cold, not that she has a cold?

cooolio · 30/09/2022 01:44

They could write a prescription for a 15-tog quilt.

“Give me…. 250ml of tea, a pair of fleecy socks and a filled hot water bottle NOW”

IndigoC · 30/09/2022 02:01

Could be anaemia or a thyroid condition, OP. Or just hormonal fluctuations.

NurseInTraining · 30/09/2022 02:21

Try taking 1g paracetamol and see if you feel better - if you do then you might have a temperature. If not then you might be feeling the change in temperature recently, it seems like summer ended quite abruptly. If you feel cold when others don't then it might be worth seeing your GP as it might hypothyroidism etc and some blood tests could diagnose.

Sarahcoggles · 30/09/2022 07:47

Or maybe just see how you are in the morning!

EbbyEbs · 30/09/2022 07:52

“Call the GP”

😂😂 yeah, good luck getting past the receptionist with that one! 🤣

Opted for that.

I couldn't warm up all night. Finally starting to feel warm now! I will keep an eye and if this persists (I was freezing yesterday morning too - sat in front.of the log fire with my clothes, coat on and hot water bottle and still felt so cold i had to run a hot bath to warm up!!) I'll seek doctor's advice.

I have to wait 3 weeks for an appointment to review my antidepressants, how is the OP going to get an appointment for feeling cold?? 🙈

I think it’s because we’ve all got used to being warm over summer so it suddenly feels much colder. Even a drop of a degree or so can take it from comfortable to cold.

Some illnesses have feeling cold as a symptom - talking to a GP for this is as valid as raising any other symptom with them. It can be a symptom of thyroid problems, anaemia, blood loss etc. Everyone can request an appointment with their GP.

ihatethecold · 30/09/2022 08:06

Get moving op. You’ll warm up.

FluffySocksAndHotChocolate · 30/09/2022 08:10

Seek doctors advice for being cold? 😅 no wonder doctors don't want to deal with patients.

Fireflygal · 30/09/2022 08:13

Have you checked your temperature? I really wouldn't contact your GP until you have dome some basic checks, such as temperature. You may be coming down with a virus and no point seeing as doctor.
Are there others in the house?

Starrystarrynight456 · 30/09/2022 08:16

This was me last week. I then came down with a virus in time for the weekend. If its a new symptom, chances are you're coming down with something. Lots of it around at the moment.
