AIBU to not have the 4th covid jab ?

I've had all my covid vaccines up to date. I also had covid a few months ago.. I think I can get the next vaccine too if I want it. I was a bit surprised to be invited again..

Covid was just like a cold for me.

I'm 35, have MS ( not on any medication and I don't really have any symptoms apart from fatigue ). So no disability from it, no trouble walking or anything in my body- except fatigue.

I don't really want to have another vaccine. Is that unreasonable ?

Three health professionals told you these in-no-way-related medical issues could related to the vaccine?

I did have an inflamed toe two days after one of my vaccinations. Should I claim that?

This is misinformation, you have disregarded 3 medical professionals opinion and stated “these in no way related medical issues could relate to the vaccine.” That is your opinion not fact and is obviously disputed by the OPs doctors. Not to mention how concerning you sound. Seriously, just stop.

Don't they say generally it's supposed to be milder if / when you get it again ?

That isn’t true - my dd (18) no underlying conditions had no symptoms apart from loss of smell the first time - second time truly floored her. DH was really ill both times.

I had the booster a week ago - it was the Moderna one. I had a slightly sore arm that evening.
I'm always surprised at the number of people on here who have such dreadful reactions to the vaccine. In real life the worst I have heard of is a sore arm and/or a bit of a headache.

MrsMorrisey · 02/10/2022 05:04

Just stating facts about our town. No one had covid until they were vaccinated.
I'm from Vic but moved 5 years ago, my family still live there.
My nephew was watching the protest at The Shrine and not actively participating ( he was standing with two other people under a tree) he was dressed in high vis tradie gear. He was approached by two swat police and asked to move on, when he declined he was thrown to the ground resulting in a broken collarbone and concussion, he was then thrown in the back of a divvie van and subsequently arrested.
Not a police state.

I think this article sums up the problems here, and while I don’t agree with the term anti- vaxxer for not taking up the offer of the Covid vaccine the author does make some good points, here’s a snippet.

“Further, the report’s authors argue that many pro-vaxxers have “limited capacity to engage constructively” due in part to adopting a position of inherent moral superiority that prevents them from empathizing with anti-vaxxers.”

I think we see this a lot on these threads unfortunately.

I'm pregnant and have been offered flu but not covid so I think the advice on it has changed. I won't be having either as I had covid whilst pregnant and was completely fine and the the kids have just had it and I didn't even catch it from them.

@Ethelfromnumber73 the
RCOG exists for the protection of obstetricians not women. Women will make their own choices based on their own circumstances (shocking I know that women should have autonomy over their own bodies).🤯

mrssunshinexxx · 02/10/2022 06:40

Didn't have other booster won't be having this one

Boobahs · 02/10/2022 07:06

I had AstraZeneca for the first 2 - no side effects at all. 3rd one was Pfizer - my legs felt like lead the next day. Had 4th one on Thursday, which was Moderna - it's knocked me poorly for 2 days! Dithering, nausea, headache, every single joint in my body was aching. I even had to leave work and was in bed after the school run.

Definitely thinking twice now whether I would be having any more.

Cillery · 02/10/2022 07:12

I have had fourth Covid jab with no problems whatsoever for what it’s worth

  1. I disregarded them as I have doubts they actually exist. 2. Sure, this is my opinion - absolutely. 3. Don't read my posts if you don't like them. I have as much right to post as you do.

The Shrine was defecated and urinated on by the high-vis protesters. I'm not suggesting for a moment that your nephew, also dressed in high-vis, participated in this, but it happened. The protest was violent, protracted and unnecessary and disrupted the city for weeks.

Still not a police state. Protests would not be able to occur in the first place if it was.

What have I posted as misinformation?

Zippedydoo123 · 02/10/2022 07:50

I don't think I will bother. I never had covid to my knowledge. I can't afford to go on holiday abroad either so it won't affect that side of things.

I work at home and do not see many people. Luckily never get the flu either so won't be bothering with that one either. I have had flu just twice in my life and am now 58.

What have I posted as misinformation?

"The picture of a police state doesn’t exist? The rubber bullets say otherwise, I’ll leave it there."

Above - that's misinformation. I'm not exactly sure where you sit on the vaccine debate, but this is overwrought right-wing misinformation. Rubber bullets were used, yes, but the situation required it. The city, at the time, was under blockade by protesters who had not moved for weeks. The use of the term 'police state' is unwarranted.

womaninatightspot · 02/10/2022 08:06

I was horribly ill after my second vaccine. Lost my job ( temp contract finished was too ill to start next one) I was by laid up for 3 months. It really stuffed me financially. Maybe it was coincidence but to be honest I’d rather take my chances with Covid than risk the same thing happening again.

I think you may be confused as to what misinformation actually is.
No need to reply, we are done here.

Buzzinwithbez · 02/10/2022 08:17

Someone commented upthread that out of all the yellow card reports, only a handful have had vaccine damage/death caused by the vaccine confirmed.
This young woman waited 16 months following the death of her husband for the vaccine damage scheme to finally acknowledge that the vaccine was responsible. If there were so few genuine cases, why has his wife has to wait so long?

Its dreadful that this poor women has had to wait so long but It doesn't equate to how many genuine cases there are or are not tbh.
