Cleaner was 2.5 hours late today. She told me she would be 1.5 then rocked up an hour after that. They work in pairs. They did 10 mins ( each) longer than I pay them for so 20 mins extra in total. I didn't ask them to and they normally just do what they can in the time they have. She has now told me I owe her an extra half hour's pay?

They are late every week and piss me around. I do like them though and get on well with them so I just put up with it.

Am I justified in being pissed off here?

Pay them this time but tell them that in future any overtime had to be agreed with you in advance.

Why did they do extra?!

If you didn't ask them to and there's no prior arrangement for overtime I'd tell them to hop it and find someone else

I think with people you have in your home you have to trust them. I'm not sure I would with these two.

If in the past you have told them you’ll pay extra as and when your property needs it then don’t be shocked when you get a bill.

the lateness thing is not ideal but is it super important what time they arrive? Or does it inconvenience you?

Look for a new cleaner they’re taking the piss
