Time consuming celeb crush

I’ve not had a new celeb crush for a good few years.

I’ve developed a new one this week and I’d forgotten how all-consuming they can be! Scrolling through YouTube videos, reading up on Wikipedia, constructing the fantasy narratives I want to daydream about….it’s taking up all my spare time.

Does anyone else do this? I know it will fade down to a few comforting little daydreams soon, but does anyone else get the really intense initial celeb crushes?

YABU for not saying who it is!

Purplelion · 28/09/2022 20:25

I can’t decide if you’re BU until I know who it is!

Roger Federer. Not my usual type at all, which is why it’s taken me by surprise!

In that case YABU

Pretty normal I think! I’ve a few sudden wild celeb crushes in my time.

I very luckily got tickets to the tennis at the weekend and although I didn’t get to see him play, I did get to see him watching the other matches. By the time I left I was completely smitten!

Oh, I can totally see why. I don’t massively fancy him but he’s an incredibly charming man, and absolutely phenomenal sportsman and played with so much more elegance and grace than any of his rivals. Also extremely well-dressed.

I used to have a massive, massive crush on Peter Garrett of Midnight Oil when I was 19/20, when the single 'Beds are Burning' hit the UK charts. Saw a video of the band and was smitten by the strangely dancing, tall, bald man.

Over the years, life happened, etc. Saw they were touring (final tour) earlier this year and dragged a friend along, basically for the memories ad we'd both liked the music. I said to friend something about them all knocking on a bit (they're all in their late 60's) and really being there for the music, and I meant it.

Until they got on stage. I got my crush back after 30 or so years. Utterly ridiculous but he's such an all-round nice bloke. And still extremely hot
