I live in a “luxury” apartment complex. Only 30 apartments so not a lot of people here. But there has been issues with security. People used to leave the gate open leading to theft, homeless people used to enter etc. Random shit would be flytipped in the communal areas like benches and the bins are ridiculously overflowed. There’s also obvious drug dealers that hang around and enter. Residents have complained to the building manager and changes have happened but not enough to deter antisocial behaviour. For example, the gate auto closes now but people put things in the way to prop it open.
Found out that one of the apartments is a airbnb type letting which explains why loads of people come and go and treat the place disrespectfully. I find it annoying as things get tampered with. My letterbox is broken for example, someone’s probably done that trying to grab my mail inside. Someone’s ripped all the fire exit signs off from the ceiling. There’s a plant room with access to bikes, meters, broadband routers/tv points - it’s annoying to think random people have access.
would you be minded to complain because I suppose the owner legally can sublet?
