Any chance they know what they're doing and this is going to be wonderful for all of us.

I mean, surely they know something we don't?

Skin just crawled a bit at the mention of John Redwood - there's a blast from the past.

Queuesarasarah · 29/09/2022 08:01

Visionaries? I mean if it turned out they were hearing/seeing things that weren’t there it would explain a lot….

Local radio. That’s awfully brave of her.

At least she won’t have to worry about trying to disguise the smirk she’ll have on her face.

Listening to her now, she just sounds out of her depth.

I am really angry we are in this serious situation with no proper government. We haven't had a PROPER government since the Tories ousted May.

The thing is she has never hidden what she believes in and still got elected!

Ok some red wall mps are worried about loosing their seats, but bankers bonus's , de regulation and more austerity (end of NHS) are what the conservatives have wanted since Brexit

The only reason boris didn't do this is that he is too much of a narcissist and softened enough to keep his popular support

Truss was not supported by MPs though, it was the swivel eyed members who voted for her.

Most MPs knew she was off the chart in terms of crazy policies. Sunak said openly she would crash the economy.

Well, either they are grossly incompetent and this is all coming as a massive surprise to them (despite all advice to the contrary), or this is a purposeful attempt to crash the economy in order to further enrich their disaster-capitalist mates and justify huge cuts to the public sector, so that they can rebuild the UK as a tax haven for the super-rich, with a millionaire/billionaire class, a vast working class and no real middle class (see for example, the US).

Unfortunately, I fear they likely ARE visionaries,
but their vision is not one that will benefit the vast majority of the populace.

It’s this. They are disaster capitalists.

This Article explains more.

@lannistunut

Fair point!

Notonthestairs · 29/09/2022 08:19

80,000 Conservative members elected her. Sunak got 60,000.
Truss only got 50 votes in the first round of MP votes. It was only when the ERG got behind her (after Braverman and Badenoch were knocked out) that she pulled in more support.

paintitallover · 29/09/2022 08:24

They are disgusting people.

pigsDOfly · 29/09/2022 14:02

Listening to her now, she just sounds out of her depth.

She has sounded out of her depth throughout the whole selection process.

Very difficult to understand what the thought processes of the conservative members were when they made her our PM.

IDidntKnowItWasAParty · 29/09/2022 14:12

I wish. Sadly theyre just complete fucking idiots.
