Was with the guy I am seeing the other day and we were talking about random things and got onto the conversation of the war. He said ‘it’s very likely nuclear weapons will be used and we will be fucked, you’ll be given a 15 minute warning and have to just bend down and cover your face’ aibu to be scared now?

It's not "very likely" that nuclear weapons will be used, and that they will be targeted at the UK. As the PP has said, nuclear weapons have been around for decades and it's not rational to be constantly afraid of a nuclear attack.

I think it's weird what with all the historical outrage banded about nowadays, that Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings ever get a look in. Seeing the devastation there bending down and covering the face wouldn't have helped much.

I am not sure Putin is really mad enough to use nuclear weapons , praying it’s all talk . Governments all over the world are taking Putin’s threats seriously though . Unfortunately the war is progressing and things are becoming more dangerous by the day . I am scared too !

OP - is nuclear war something that is on your mind anyway? If it is, then it makes sense that you would cling on to this guy's comment and let your mind run away with it. If he has said the opposite, that it definitely wont happen, would you have nodded and carried on with your day without giving it a second thought?
Unless this chap is high up in some relevant military or government thing, then his opinion counts as much as a comment by Joe Public on the Daily Mail page.
