Hi all
I recently moved into a new place where the heating is linked to a programmable thermostat (can say what temp i want the house at diff times of day)
I have no idea what to do for the best as its so confusing.
In my mum's house the heating had a switch and it was either on or it was off - this is what I'm used to.
Right now to turn it on I have to find the "zone" im in timewise and boost the temp up, and the same but boost down if I want to turn it off.
I've heard that it is marginally cheaper to boost the heating on and then leave it at low level all day as its the initial turn on that costs the money.
My house with no heating is currently at the 14.5 / 15 degree mark so I was thinking of programming it to come on at say 6.00 and heat up to 20 degrees or so then come down to 17 for the rest of the day until the evening when i do another boost?
my question is this; if you have a temp schedule...what is it?? I have no idea what I'm doing and dont want to waste money.
Also recommendations of your thermostat helpful, the one I've got seems very convoluted (Salus rtf something) so might switch.
