I'm trying to find a motivational and poignant quote to think about each day. What's your favourite?

Pregnancy is not an illness.
People only change when the current situation becomes too unpleasant to bear. (both from doctors).
Have nothing in your house that you do not believe to be beautiful or know to be useful. William Morris.

Empty vessels make the most noise!

Never get into a battle of wits with someone who's completely unarmed.

Do not make someone a priority when you're only their option.

Don't take criticism from someone you would ask for advice.

If it won't matter in five years it doesn't matter now.

And my favourite...

Focus on the shit that's on the shovel rather than the pile that's still to clear.

No star is ever lost we once have seen
We always may be what we might have been

"Old people should be shot at birth"

Very poignant 🤓

"If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world."

Tolkien. Be a hobbit, not a dragon. Although being able to breathe fire would be useful this winter!

There’s a Swedish saying my mum adored and loosely translated it reads:

Love me the most when I deserve it the least, that’s when I need it the most.

It doesn’t always apply but in terms of raising kids and not fighting the smaller battles etc… it still resonates with me. ♥️

If you want the rainbow you've got to put up with the rain.

Mommabear20 · 28/09/2022 14:11

You try, you fail,
You try, you fail,
But the only true failure is when you stop trying.

If you always do what you've always done, then you'll always get what you've always got.

Expectation is the cause of all heartache.

Mommabear20 · 28/09/2022 14:13

Also never accept an apology from someone that just sucker punched you.

steff13 · 28/09/2022 14:18

My grandfather used to say, "every day above ground is a good day."

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 28/09/2022 14:19

This is a question I sometimes ask myself when someone has got to me.

Why am I allowing someone else to determine how I feel about myself?

I also like
Not my circus; not my monkeys.

Batiqueattic · 28/09/2022 14:22

People forgive a lot of things but spite isn't one of them.

"The perfect is the enemy of the good."

I was always a perfectionist but this really stuck with me after I heard it. I no longer strive for perfection, good enough is enough. Life is far less stressful as a result.

“Never play chess with a pigeon.

The pigeon just knocks all the pieces over.

Then shits all over the board.

Then struts around like it won.”

If you strive for perfection you will never be content.

"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to to continue that counts." (Winston Churchill)

We cannot expect old heads on young shoulders

Worrying about something will not make it happen nor make it not happen. So why worry?
