Posting here for traffic really but I really would love to book our first family holiday for October and am looking for recommendations for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids 6&8). We would prefer an apartment type accommodation as not keen on all of us staying in one room.
Ideally would like a decent size splash park for the kids too, kids club would be great and all inclusive.
I know Europe isn't always super hot in October but we've seen some good deals for Spain, I'm just worried it won't be warm enough to be in the pool for the kids.
I've been looking for months now and I honestly can't seem to bring myself to click that book button so please any recommendations would be great otherwise I don't think we will ever go on a family holiday!

Only place I would consider going in Oct is Tenerife, it won't be hot enough in Spain for young children. Egypt will be a good temperature for pools and the sea but you are best to go to an AI resort there

Not sure about apartments because I always book hotels, I can recommend fuerterentura in October, we went early November and it was 23 degrees. One pool was properly heated, the others were still ok to swim in. Kids club was in operation for preschool children (was in term time)

I'd only consider the canaries, esp if your looking at half term which is the end of October.

I'd be more concerned about pool temp for adults over children, children often don't care as much about pool temp compared to adults in my experience

But yes Spain will be too cold in October, the canaries are the only place in Europe I'd consider in October.

Canaries and heated pool ?
What's your budget?
GF Isabel apartments in Tenerife might suit. Some Jet2 packages come with entrance to Siam park water park included

Canaries, even then make sure the pool is heated. I've been to Menorca and Majorca in October for a break but it's never really been splash park weather and most of the resorts are winding down.

Thank you..I did look at Siam park however not sure it would suit us.
No real budget (just want to feel like got an ok deal really I guess)
I am worried about the weather but equally really would like to go away.
Jet2 don't seem to fly from Gatwick unfortunately. We've mainly looked on TUI as tried some others but flight times rubbish or there's loads of added extras!

When I say apartment I mean in a hotel... So a room which has a separate bedroom really

Cyprus is also good for an October holiday. We stayed at the Louis Phaethon in Paphos which has water slides and a splash pool. We went right at the end of October and it was hot enough to swim, sunbathe etc.

Cyprus 🙂I don't like boiling hot, so Cyprus at end of October was perfect for me. Was able to lounge around the pool with my book, and feel comfortable/warm.

Jaz Bluemarine in Hurghada is lovely, and you have a living room area with two sofa beds, separated either by a curtain or actual partition.

Cyprus weather is lovely - but none of the pools are heated!

I was going to suggest Cyprus as well, temperature-wise similar to the Canaries or a tiny bit higher.

I live in Spain and teh pool water is still nice and warm now but by next month it won't be. However , kids don't seem to notice ! I would personally head further south or the canaries to guarantee warmth

I also recommend Cyprus. We went a couple of years ago Oct half term and stayed in a villa - the unheated pool was fine.

Have a look at Cordial Mogan Playa (or the aparthotel it has next door) in Puerto De Mogan, Gran Canaria. Lovely hotel in a great resort and easy to walk to the centre of the town/beach etc. We went there a couple of times when DS was little and it was good.

Thank you all, will look more at canaries and Cyprus... Don't suppose anyone has any good places to book through which tend to be best deals?
Cyprus and canaries are both currently coming out very expensive for 5 days work TUI, guessing due to the fact it's still warm! If I can get a bit more of a bargain it would be perfect!
Feel pretty useless at this holiday thing as cannot make a decision and just want it to be a nice first holiday!
